Community Integration in Action: Diné Naazbaa’ Partnership Collaborates for Remote Families

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

On November 19th, 2021, the Diné Naazbaa' Partnership (DNP) collaborated with 31 Navajo Nation Chapter Houses within the Eastern Agency, the Reveille Foundation, Phoenix Truck Driving Institute, HDS Inc, FreeFresh and Navajo Nation Veterans Administration to support Navajo Nation veterans in need of food, wood, and other items. This is the fourth donation event the group has organized connecting nearly 200 families who live in some of the most remote areas of the Navajo Nation to essential items. A new partner, Chizh for Cheii (Wood for Grandpa) joined the event to provide 40 chords of wood in addition to the over 15,000 pounds of fresh and non-perishable food and 52,000 bottles of travel size hand sanitizer. The next donation event is being scheduled for late January.

DNP is a veteran focused, community led initiative to proactively connect with all veterans within the Navajo Nation and ensure access to quality resources and opportunities available in collaboration with existing resources. The program aims to cultivate an integrated, resilient, and prosperous veteran community within the Navajo Nation by improving veteran quality of life.

With support from caring and passionate donors, America's Warrior Partnership (AWP) continues to lead the work to end veteran suicide. Please consider making a donation today to AWP. Your generous, tax-deductible contribution will empower veterans, their families, and caregivers with holistic community care.
