On August 14, 2022, Diné Naazbaa Partnership (DNP) attended a Navajo Code Talkers event near the Nation’s capital in Tse Bonito, New Mexico. The event was held on the exact day that President Ronald Reagan proclaimed in 1982 to honor the brave United States Marine Corps unit that comprised of Navajo men who created an unbreakable code to covertly communicate operational plans during World War II.

The event, which saw a great community turnout of about 900 people, had a full agenda that included an honor run, parade, Gourd Dance, the Code Talkers historical museum ground-breaking ceremony, and featured various speakers. An established DNP booth was also present, where we were able to connect with many local veterans, veteran-serving professionals, and vendors. By attending these events, we continue to build a sturdy network to be able to support the Navajo veteran community. We at DNP are always thrilled to get out and build connections at the local chapters.

Diné Naazbaa is stronger when our veterans are stronger. Connect with DNP to learn more about how you can give back to the Navajo veteran community by visiting our website and completing an online form: http://dinenaazbaapartnership.org/
