Since December of 2022, Dine Naazbaa Partnership (DNP) has partnered with Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program (A.N.E.) to support our Navajo Elders with a single goal: to allow them to age with dignity in their traditional way on their ancestral homelands. Many of the Elders served by Adopt-A-Native-Elder are in their 80’s and 90’s and represent the last generation of traditional Indigenous people in the United States.

Founded in 1986 by Linda Myers, 2026 is A.N.E.'s 40th year of service on the reservation and has become a trusted humanitarian organization focused on reducing the extreme hardship facing traditional Elders living on the Navajo Reservation. This is accomplished by delivering over one million pounds of food, medical supplies, firewood and other forms of needed elderly assistance each year. By respecting the tradition and dignity of Navajo Elders, relationships are created that honor and serve the Elders, their family members, and their communities.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.

Since partnering, Adopt-A-Native-Elder and Dine Naazbaa Partnership has assisted many of our Navajo Nation veterans and surviving spouses with assistance including wood vouchers, propane vouchers, and groceries.

If you, or someone you know, could benefit from Dine Naazbaa Partnership or Adopt-A-Native-Elder feel free to reach out to DNP's Karen Shirley at KShirley@dinenaazbaapartnership.org or CJ Robb, Director of Business Development & Operations of Adopt-A-Native-Elder, at cj85robb@gmail.com
